InvestTech’s team of seasoned consultants averages nearly 15 years of experience in trading systems and investment technology—our management averages over 25 years of experience. Our consultants come directly from money management firms or from the vendor community—and often from both. We hire highly capable people with extensive track records of successful investment technology project experience—we do not believe in on the job training at your expense.

Bruce E. Vollert

Principal and Co-Founder
Bruce has more than 23 years of experience in the field of investment management systems for institutional investors, having served in a variety of capacities including management consulting, product management, and executive management for the nation's largest provider of computerized portfolio management and capital markets trading systems.

Mr. Vollert was educated at the University of Colorado, Boulder where he earned a BS in Finance. He earned an MBA at the U.C.L.A. Anderson Graduate School of Mgmt. Bruce has also been published as a Contributing Author in The Handbook of Mortgage-Backed Securities, Chapter: “Computerized Support for Mortgage-Backed Security Investing”.  

Jeremy M. Hurwitz

Principal and Co-Founder
Jeremy has over 20 years experience in the investment systems and computer technology fields working with large, global institutional investment organizations. Mr. Hurwitz has extensive knowledge and experience in investment systems, data management and reporting technology.  Jeremy provides technology consulting in the design and implementation investment data management systems, vendor system implementations and technology integration projects.

Mr. Hurwitz has a BS in Computer Science & Applied Math, a Post Graduate Degree in MIS from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and has also completed the Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management coursework at the U.C.L.A. Graduate School of Management. 

Bennett Kaplan

Principal
Bennett has more than 18 years of experience in the field of investment management systems for institutional and private client investors, having served in a variety of capacities including senior manager of the investment technology development and support staffs at two major investment organizations, Weiss Peck and Greer and Oppenheimer Capital.

Mr. Kaplan has a BS in Management Information Systems from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA in Finance from Northeastern University. 

Kevin Coffin, CIPM

Senior Manager
Kevin Coffin has more than 17 years of extensive project management and systems implementation experience as the project leader on Eagle PACE and STAR implementations, as well as implementing and managing PAM operations for eight years at a large fixed income investment management firm. 

Mr. Coffin received his BS in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University and an MBA in Management from the University of La Verne. 

Thomas Hong, CA CFA

Senior Manager
Tom Hong has more than 11 years of experience in the field of investment management systems. While with InvestTech, he has successfully managed several large scale, multi-currency, system implementations of leading investment management product suites. He possesses a broad knowledge of investment accounting operations for all types of asset classes and a strong understanding of systems integration workflows. Prior to joining InvestTech, Tom was a senior accountant/business consultant with KPMG’s Financial Services Group in Toronto.

Tom is a Chartered Accountant (Canada) and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mr. Hong received his B.Commerce with Honors from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. 

Jill Katz

Senior Manager
Jill Katz has more than 22 years of experience in the field of investment management systems for institutional investors, having served in a variety of capacities including senior management of investment systems support and operations for two large institutional investment organizations, Zurich Scudder and AIG.

Ms. Katz has a BS in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA in Finance from New York University. 

Meg Whitman

Senior Manager
Meg Whitman has over 30 years experience in financial services including investment management operations, global custody operations, securities lending, securities trading and processing, product design and development, product strategy, project management, package evaluation and selection, and management consulting. She has been responsible for the business definition, design, development and delivery of several large multi-currency applications for global custody and investment management operations. Ms. Whitman has extensive knowledge of securities processing from trade decision through settlement. 

Prior to joining InvestTech, Ms. Whitman was an independent consultant in financial services for 4 years providing business analysis and project management services to several clients. Meg served in many roles at Thomson Financial Services from 1990-2002, including Executive Director at Omgeo, Director of Product Management for the Investment Software division, Director of Client Service for PORTIA and Business Development Manager for OASYS Global.

Scott Villiers

Practice Director - OMS / Front Office
Scott Villiers is a highly skilled and dynamic manager with extensive experience in investment management systems, particularly in trading systems and financial markets. His technical and business expertise in the management and implementation of all types of trading systems and operations spans more than 15 years. Mr. Villiers is a capable project manager with knowledge, experience and practical application in many areas of investment technology systems, including strategic planning and best practice evaluation skills.

Prior to InvestTech, Mr. Villiers was Director of Implementations, Asia-Pacific for Charles River Development where he was responsible for all of Charles River’s Implementation Services and personnel for the Asia-Pacific region. He was relocated from San Francisco to Australia by Charles River to take on this role after success as a Senior Manager responsible for CRD’s Western US region. Mr. Villiers has also traveled extensively, with time spent working in the USA, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and London as well as many years in Australia and he is now making a welcome return to the industry in the United States.
